2026-2027 Pre-K & Kindergarten Registration

Online Registration Period: May 11 – May 28

Stamford ISD invites families to register their children for the upcoming school year. Please review the eligibility requirements and important dates below.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Kindergarten: Children must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026.

  • Pre-K / Head Start: Children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026.

Important Dates & Events

Head Start Registration (In-Person)

  • When: April 29 | 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM

  • Where: Oliver Cafeteria

  • Note: After qualifying for Head Start, parents must also complete the online registration process.

Classroom Open House & Computer Lab Access

  • Classroom Visits: May 13 | 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Visit Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms).

  • Computer Lab Availability: May 13 | 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM (Open for families needing computer or internet access to register).

Qualification Criteria

Pre-K Requirements

To qualify for the Pre-K program, students must be 4 years old by Sept. 1 and meet at least one of the following:

  1. The dominant home language is a language other than English.

  2. Family meets state income requirements.

Head Start Requirements

  • Students must be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1.

  • Families must meet federal poverty guidelines.

  • Required Documents: Families must provide their latest tax return and proof of insurance for the child.

Required Documentation

To register for any program, please ensure you have the following documents for your child:

  • Official Birth Certificate

  • Up-to-date Immunization Records

  • Social Security Card

Important Notices

Current Students: If your child is currently enrolled in our Head Start or Pre-K program and will be entering Kindergarten, they do not need to register at this time.

  • Paid Pre-K Option: Depending on available space, a paid Pre-K class may be offered. Availability will be determined by August 4, 2026. If interested, please complete the online registration starting May 11. Spots will be filled on a first-registered, first-served basis.

  • Moving? If you plan to move over the summer, please notify the office so we can prepare for the upcoming year.
